This has got to be one of funniest emails i received (the guy sounds pretty serious, lol)

Dear owner:

I find it funny that I was trying to register ethanolgas.org at the exact same time as you. Its hard for me to believe that this is a coincidence. I think the odds are pretty astronomical for us to both happen on that domain at the exact same time.

I will wait 5 days before I make inquiries with the FBI, US Secret Service, and Internet Crime Complaint Center about this matter.

You never know ..... His name may be Ethan Olgas ... :guilty:

 Pretty obvious it's a Domainer who feels the name was snatched by a Registrar or taster watching his domain searches. Pretty harsh scare tactic none the less.

Dear unsuccessful registrant ,

Your email instills the idea that you're threatening me, which leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Speaking of tasting, I have no intentions of letting this domain go back to the registry, so you may continue to blow your gas,... steam, in my direction, it's not going to change the current situation. However, i do sincerely feel excruciatingly bad for you, so here are my suggestions.

Option 1: Should you feel that you've missed out on registering this domain due to delay, which can only have happened on your side, because as you can clearly see, it worked flawless for me, you may want to consider getting legal assistance and press charges against the Global Department of Bandwith Limitations.
Option 2: Against all odds, i might consider an offer of astronomical proportions on this domain, but if it so happens that your offer coincides with another offer that i might receive at the same time, which seems to be a common occurrence in your life, you may want to consider Option 1 again.

I remain with best regards, speedily sent from my unmonitored email address,

Godspeed,
Ireg Alot.

Hey syntheticryhme,

I know the Ebay crowd can be quite dipsy. I even had death threats over a few domains a couple years back form several Ebayers after I regged a donation domain.

The guy should watch yor Ebay listings as in the end your prices for selling the name will end up pretty cheap in the long run compared to the hassle and stress he is putting on himself.

I guess the only suggestion I have is "be careful". Just one of the many reasons is:

1.) Nut Cases

I suppose there are other things you can add to the list that are less important. It gets worse when you are providing services. Ahem... It is not a lot of fun having to contact the FBI or being contacted by the FBI about your domains. The fake email alone is a headache, as most of you know. If you have a lot of domains it is part of life... and I am one of those that is eager to cooperate with authorities in catching the bad guys. You also get calls from police and sheriffs around the country. I have made some extreme efforts to verify who they are in the past, and then eagerly help. Most of the departments like FBI, police, sheriff, etc., are starved for technology and appreciate the help. A few minutes snooping by one of us can save them weeks of time or more in some cases, so feel free to offer help (not a shameless plug since I don't work for them).

I have sent a *lot* of funny email responses over the years... oops... sorry if I offended any customers out there, now that I am selling (smack to the side of the head). Some of you may have read about my "free oven mitt packed in static-free packing peanuts" offer for domain sales. In retrospect, overall, I suppose this was not one of my best sales techniques, although it was the funniest, and got a lot of funny replies too.

One more thing: Once this guy contacts the FBI, guess who the FBI has information on...

Marc

Great but you forgot the 3rd option.
3)You might consider registering intestinalgases.com (intestinalgas.com and org taken unfortunately)
