before, you had to go though dot.tk to get a tk domain pointed to your html page.. but now you can register them and own your own .tk domain.. i think i might do this because of the noverty of it :P

.tk offers besides the "free" .tk since the beginning the "normal" .tk registrations, at arround $8/yr or 200 barter fish (reffereals).
haven't been at their site since years, so maybe prices have changed

No matter if you use a free version or buy a .tk, I think in most people's mind that .tk is free, and therefore, mostly useless.

I know many people got their start on .tk (which is great for newbies) but a lot of people can afford (a good looking) .com - which is much more acceptable in the commerce and information world..

good point, you'll not be well seen with .tk, even if you paid, since all internet is full of free .tk, and being free, many of them are so abused...

rehash & stsac are right.
I woul additionally say, that .tk is a adon extension for SEO after your main TLDs

Agreed. Everytime I see a *.tk site I laugh and don't bother clicking it. Most of the sites on .tk domains are nooby little crappy Geocities things not worth viewing I've found.

I had some, allthough I didn't pay them.
I used my refferal credits from .TK to pay, as otherwise my credits would have been converted into T-shirts, BBcaps and crappy handbags - lol
But really, I never would pay ;)
