Regarding my expired domain

one of my domains expired 3 months back.Shall i renew the same domain or get a new one. Does the old expired domain holds any value?

It depends on many factors:

Value of the name.
Extension.
Traffic
Alexa (a lot of people don't care)
Google PageRank (some people don't care)
Archived pages
Previous content quality
Generated revenue
Many more...

And the most important one, what do you plan on doing with this domain? Do you like it enough to just own it for no reason, or does it have potential to be developed or parked and generate money that exceeds the value of the renewal fee?
