Hi!

I received an offer of $150 only for JapaneseFood.mobi at Sedo..

Um.. well I do believe this to be my most lucrative .mobi domain name.. of course I say to friends here to HOLD HOLD HOLD.. but, to be honest, I am becoming kinda popular locally and I wonder if I need to act now for a living wage; and if I really need any domains at all to wait on..

Given that IndianFood.mobi is only at $200 at Sedo for me on the last day, do you think JapaneseFood.mobi domain can garner alot? How much?

(Also, would anybody like to make a higher Sedo offer or suggest better strategies for me selling it?)

Kind Regards,

Yelo

hi WorldRadio.mobi,

for us that believe in .mobi i think that both (japanese and indian.mobi) r very cheap now.
i think that in this moment we dont have a good time for sellers/resellers but in the other hand, the best way to make ur .mobi more valuable is through development or u have to wait mobi's growth. so if u dont intend to develop and u r very popular locally what probably means u r busy w ur work (i hope .mobi work w great profit) id consider negociate (if it is not an auction) as JapaneseFood.mobi has a great range and millions of fans.
regards,
bricio.

Thank You

Thank you for your feedback..

Yes, it has been very busy around here..

I think you are right, the aftermarket is not kind to us at this time.. development and patience might need to be appreciated more..

Kind Regards,

Yelo

good offers on these...long names but good niche markets.

Tough call...consider the popularity of each on its own merits. India has over 1 billion people and their cuisine is spreading all over the globe.

Japan has a much smaller population but has been popular everywhere for quite sometime, including sushi.

Personally, I would graciously decline the offer and not even counter offer. Let them come back with a higher offer.

This strategy has worked in the past with me on a number of domains, all extensions. If they want it, they will make a better offer. The point is lowballing you from the get go.

Then you can open up the negotiations.

As for Sedo, I have negotiated higher prices to my benefit if it does not go to auction. The auction thing can work either way. Good, bad, indifferent. For me, Sedo is not my best market for selling.

Thus far, for 2007, less than 50% of offers accepted or domain auctions have been paid for. Disappointing results, disappointing enforcement:
-------------------------------------------------------
In the continued effort to maintain a successful and secure marketplace, we ask that all buyers certify their accounts before making an offer. This improved protection benefits all members of the Sedo marketplace and shortens the transaction process.

Please note: Sedoโ€™s Buyer Certification program does not guarantee that a buyer will perform their obligations when agreeing to purchase a domain name.

Seriously if I were you I would actually keep the domain for another year when the .mobi market get's bigger as it is only starting.

..with millions of fans (Japanese Food), great point.. i should stop thinking of myself so much.. maybe if I kept this domain I can use it to give exposure to my other hopeful projects like..

Interfaith.mobi
Humanitarian.mobi
Streetchildren.mobi
SocialJustice.mobi
Disarmament.mobi
NonViolence.mobi
HomelessShelter.mobi
HomelessShelters.mobi

I think you are right.. now, I live for other people's dreams..

I countered with $1,000,000 on one of mine. If you're gonna low ball me, then I'll just high ball you back! :alien: :yell:

Thats great that you are getting bids on your mobis! Instead of countering you could have just pushed to auction and possibly gotten more bids to the level that you would have wanted to sell for. Maybe you could have countered with 250 and ended up pushing to auction at 200 or something. Its a decent name but it is a 12 letter mobi. Maybe they will come back with a better offer for you or maybe they will accept your 200k counter, lol. Good luck with it.

I agree, 12 letter .mobi, but I don't really think that matters. They are good names, it's just not a good time to sell. It's a buyers market, so if you want to sell you must be prepared to let it go for a song. I say hold onto both of them.

nrmillions, did you get a chance to look at what we were talking about last week?

I'd hang onto Japanesefood for a while - too early to sell, but not too early to develop...

if you decide to store it, make sure you keep it in ice or the fridge -- you don't want japanesefood to spoil or perish ---

just thinking about Japanese Food -- I'm off to have some sushi for lunch - arigato

Definitely agree with everyone here. Hold on to your dot mobis, the big corps are getting ready to launch. Its all about business strategy...everyone is keeping mum about it because you don't want competitors to be spooked, let the competitors think they're winning and launch their strategy and then dot mobiers will launch theirs. lol.

re

Another vote for hold on to it. Japenese food is an outstanding name and you didn't buy it to get $200. Sure that's a nice profit, but there have been lots of great profits that ended up looking paultry to what would have been.

Mobile devices are the future - whether they use the .mobi extension primarily is debatable. I strongly think they will because 1) there is a lot of money behind .mobi 2) people will want to see converted versions of the sites they are building at for better visibility 3) the "mobi" phrase will catch on and people will recognize that as what they're supposed to go to on their phone.

That is all debatable. What is not debateable is the emergence of mobile devices. In under 5 years, hundreds of millions will have mobile devices with internet, radio, mp3, phone, and later tv capabilities.

They will be very user friendly. Mobile companies HAVE to make these electronics easy to use or the masses won't gobble them up. They are constantly working on ways to make typing easier and within 10-15 years typing will near obseletion with enhanced voice recognition. They tried it already and failed, but they will find a way to make it happen and certainly it will be on mobile phones.

The internet is very young in its history if you think about it. Imagine how many people will be dying for a great piece of landscape like Japanesefood.mobi in the future.

This may all sound hypocritical since I am selling some of my good one worders for cheap in the marketplace. I would love to keep them, but since my other domains are only generating views and not revenue, I have to make money off my domains somewhere.

I am encouraged to here about all your bids and I hope you are able to keep this one.

PS since I'm in a forecasting mood. ESPN will crumble and a new sports leader will arise. The public outcry is coming soon.

If you don't have higher quality mobi and/or you don't need the money, I would hold. But if you have many quality mobis AND if you counter and can get $300-400, I suggest selling and investing the proceeds into developing higher quality.

jmho!

As long as the word is good it doesn't matter whether it has 12 letters or more.

I have sold a mobi that had more than 12 letters but was really good for one particular type of field.I sold it for $450 in pvt sale. I could had hold on to it but i had other things going on so i had to sell it off at that price.

Good luck with your mobi.

you didnt even need to counter offer...offers are good for 7 days and then expire.

150 for this name is a joke, IMO. Go for $500++ if you really need the money.

Looks like IndianFood.mobi sold for more than you thought it would. 850, not too bad for that.

You should be able to get more for JapaneseFood.mobi, :imho: I say send that baby to auction!

yeah,

I just got a $120. bid for macaupoker.tv.

I placed the name in the auction and the bids went up to $601. The buyer paid immediately. Sure I would have liked more, but not bad for a few months reg.
