I'm curious - what do you consider to be a reasonable offer when BIN is clearly stated and the price is fair (not the $1,000,000 you see on Ebay )

How much discount are you willing to give when selling a name?

Does you outlook change depending on whether you are a buyer or a seller ;)

doesnt it depend on the value of a domain? all domains are unique...

I'm taking about the domains you set the BIN price for.

If you want $1000 for a name, what offer would you be willing to accept or at least not ignore outright.

At what point the offer stops being "less than I wanted but OK" and becomes "no thanks".

In that case,we all have our own opinions.

In the past year or so I've changed most of my domains for sale from " Make Offer " to " Buy Now " pricing.

I did lots of up-to-date comp research and accordingly set fair market value BN prices.

Still get occasional offers on " BN " names and the offers have been low ball offers.

I respond to the effect I would consider " at this time " an offer near what I'm asking - I do not quote a price but rather a willingness to consider an offer close to BIN price ( for some names).

In my mind the next offer would have to be not less than 85% of asking for me to accept on most of my $1000 - 3500 BN names, and some will only be sold at the BN price.

I would probably allow a 10 percent discount because Go daddy commissions are 20 percent. However I generally do not even respond to offers which are not at least 30 percent of BIN as personal experience has shown those negotiations never lead to a sale.

I guess it is a 2 part question:
- first offer - how high it has to be for you to even respond?
- final agreed upon price

Hypothetical -

I have a BN at $1000. and an offer of $250. comes in - I would consider it a lowball offer yet one worthy of a response.

I have a BN at $1000. and an offer of $60. - 100. comes sliding in - that IMO is not worthy of a response and - I do consider my non-response a message to up the offer if serious.

I know others always respond to all offers, I respond to offers I consider reasonably serious.

I think it makes sense to respond to "make an offer" (no BIN) emails - after all buyer has no idea what your ballpark is.
Why start $500 if you might be willing to accept $250.

I respond to even $10 in this situation to let them know that I received their message - I hate it when my mails go unanswered. Was my offer too low? Are they dead? Did it end up in spam folder? What?
Don't be a lazy douchebag and spend 10 seconds to tell me "too low" or "no thanks".
