What are the reason behind .info domain extension.

Why .info ext domains is low cost.

The .info TLD is supposed to be used for information sites. So far has it been most popular in Europe. You can get .info domains cheap because of different promotions of the .info TLD.

Europe? Really? 99.9% of sites that use .info domain are in English, I have seen only very few (maybe about 10 or so) non-english sites that use .info domain. And I have seen only one Estonian .info site, but that has changed to .ee now, so I guess there are no more sites in Estonian. Most of the Estonians have never even heard of .info

The first year is cheap but the renewal cost is in line with other extensions, its a good way to build up the appeal of a new extension to keep the initial cost low.

welll the rates are increasing already, i think that was the promotional offer.
Here at NP, u cud have got it for 95 Np 2 days back, now they r upto 395 Np :p

And I have seen only one Estonian .info site, but that has changed to .ee now, so I guess there are no more sites in Estonian. Most of the Estonians have never even heard of .info
