i have a question i found a good expired domain its a .com and its 10 letters domain name, with no numbers and hyphens
but when i do a more detailed research i found that its ranking for keywords that have nothing to do with the niche
( no its not spammy or other crappy rankings)

i understand thats important if you want to rebuild the website
but if i only want to sell the domain for its name ?

does ranking for a bunch of unrelated keywords affect its sale value or should i not worry at all about it assuming the final user wont know for what the domain ( website ) used to rank for ??

i ask because i want to make more informed and educated domain purchases

and yes my intention is to resale the domain not to build a website.
thank you

ok so i am doing a little more research, i checked namebio and for this niche there only has been 4 sales all 2022 but the sales are in the mid to low XXX
still the expired domains should be about $9 dlls each, so its not so easy to sell but seems like a good bet..
what worries me is that the niche is not to active....in the sales reported by namebio
am i doing the research process correctly ?

Is it the type of name a person would buy to start a business on?

I can guess you bought the name due to high DA Domain Authority. What advertisers often do is advertise DA or in past PR which they would then use to advertise another niche nothing to do with domain. Eg in past i have been offered placements on sites with high DA only to find it unrelated to content. These old sites show a bit of traction with backlinks etc so think it is worth buying. Only to find the casino links aren't related to flowers for example. All just a hunch but can be relevant when you see advertising on high DA sites and realize this goes on.

Dear BetoWH7, I can suggest to avoid hyphens and buy .com with 2 english words (no more).
Second suggestion, look at DropCatch Domain Auctions sorted by number of bids as good examples
