Today,

I heard back from the owner of a premium domain. He is willing to sell his domain at reseller pricing. He's asking much less than his GoDaddy appraisal. The domain is really worth it.

The problem is that I don't have $10K to shell out instantly & make the quick purchase. Would anyone here like to partner up & help me buy the domain together? I believe we'll be able to flip it instantly for around double the purchase price.

Does anyone if I ask for a loan if it can be secured by a domain name? I have other collateral but I wasn;t sure if anyone has done this in the past.

I am open to ideas, I'd really like to buy this domain. It's an instant turnaround to flip it & make some quick $$. Or hanging on to the domain works too. It's gaining more & more value with time.

If you'd like to partner up & buy this domain, I'm open to something like that too.

Sorry, I can't post the domain name in here.

I believe you can get financing/loans for domains.... Buydomains.com springs to mind.

Check out DigiPawn.

At DigiPawn, Inc we loan money on domains. If you have domains as collateral and want to borrow money on domains, you are in the right place. In 2004 we became the first company to offer capital, financing and short-term cash advances on domain names. Since then weโ€™ve loaned out millions of dollars and have helped countless customers in times of need. Credit history is not an issue, since we loan out money to anyone with domains at affordable rates.

The term, "Premium" ... gets tossed around a lot lately, IMHO.

I understand that you cannot post the name here publicly, but can you post some more information and stats regarding the domain name (traffic, how long has it been registered, page rank, etc?), and a link to the GoDaddy "appraisal"? :gl:

Thanks much,

BullDog is correct. Godaddy's appraisals are among the worst in the industry and could be all over the board. Its much like throwing a dart at a dartboard... you never know.

DomainCapital typically loans money based on domain acquisitions, but it is my understanding they require you to have a % of the money. If its a $10,000 you might want to consider who actually gets the domain name. I might recommend bringing it to a possible buyer for a commision. No out of pocket costs for you in that case. Dont expect someone to split the profit 50/50. I know I wouldnt.

Would you say GoDaddy's Appraisals come up over estimating a domain's value? This appraisal came up high in my opinion. Either way, There's a $10,000 leeway because the Godaddy appraisal was between $5,700 - $15,000.

I will post stats & the actual appraisal here soon.

Sorry for the late response.

The domain in question was: "delete.net" which is a "premium" domain. The stats were low -> 200 uniques a month.

I sold the domain here in the high priced domains section in a broker deal with the seller.

It was a good learn & live experience. Although I speculated the domain would be worth much more, it was a great experience for all parties.

Thanks to all for your expert advice.

Delete.net would qualify as 'Premium' IMO.

There are lot better options out there for 10k. Unless you have a specific business plan for this particular domain.

200 uniques a month is pretty low for generic.

IF you have decent credit you can click on the loan domain in my sig..
