I think that we can all agree that with some exceptions, most good .mobi keywords are registered or reserved (i.e., the premium names held by mtld.mobi) at this point especially in english. Being an english speaking language forum, we are probably not seeing the breadth of foreign language .mobi names that have been registered.

Since the focus of .mobi is envisioned a worldwide mobile domain extension, and to get a better feel for how .mobi is being accepted (or at least speculated on by domainers across the globe), I propose that we list some of our best non-english .mobis for sale here.

*Please include an english translation for each name. Since this is a marketplace forum also include a price expectation.

I'll start with a few:
My translations were mostly done with the Google language tools - link here:
http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

French .mobis:
acteur (actor)
anneau (ring)
franc (the currency)
musee (museum)
noel (Christmas)

Spanish .mobis:
flor (flower)

German .mobis:
hochzeiten (weddings)
krebs (cancer)
leben (live)
nahrung (food)
ringes (rings)
spielzeug (toy)
stadion (stadium)
wissenschaft (science)

Thank you, Merci, und Danka for your posts.

If you are interested in any of the above names please PM me.
Will consider offers from mid $xxx to $x,xxx depending on name.
Thanks.

A lot of Dutch names have similar meaning in german or french. That goes for your acteur.mobi and stadion.mobi.

A few of my dutch ones are:
zij.mobi = she/her
speel.mobi = play
vlieg.mobi = fly

Waiting to see how .mobi developes to determine price, but I'm always open to offers ;)

Nice one, I like vlieg.mobi (unless it is the swattable kind)
This example makes it seem like .mobis in all languages make sense beacuse they are kind of a morphing of extensions - .com and country code and the mobile intented .mobi.

Yes, it's a task to try to set pricing. We can only keep referencing examples posted sales as they add up over time plus the other usual metrics such as ovt. And of course at any point in time it comes down to the buyer's needs and what the market will bear. Here's to hoping that .mobis vlieg ...

I have ComprarCasa.mobi, which is Spanish for Buy Home (cf. BuyHome.mobi and BuyHome.com). For comparison, ComprarCasa.com is one of leading Spanish language home sale/purchase websites, it has a high OVT and Google search returns about 70 thousand links for ComprarCasa.com.

Accepting offers.

The franc is history except in Switzerland. :)

German
flor.mobi $4000 (flower)
ringes.mobi $800 (rings)

Flower means Blume in german. A flor is a a kind of ribbon but it is not widely used. And rings are Ringe (without s) and there is no german word ringes, sorry!

Here is my list, hopefully with the proper translation:

Multilingual:

tecnica.mobi - spanish and italian for technique
programma.mobi - italian and dutch (i suppose) for program
servus.mobi - stands for "Hi!" in a lot of languages

French:

serveur.mobi - server/waiter
vetement.mobi - clothes
poeme.mobi - poem

Finally, i am not sure if tarantula.mobi is only an english word or if it is used in more languages!?

Nice one. Is it going to be an autobiography review site???
It would be a shame to have it used as just a LLL.mobi.

and

Geschaft.mobi - meaning "business" or "shop" in German. Offers are welcome.

Very nice. You should consider developing that one.

Sorry, I goofed placing flor.mobi under my german terms. (Per Google translation tool) Flor is flower in spanish not german. I tried to get blume.mobi during the first day but missed it.

Ringes still shows up in Google and Babelfish as ring. Goes to show you that automated is not necessarily automatically correct. I will have to find something to do with it. Thanks for the input.

As someone else posted, although abandoned by the french, the franc is still used in Switzerland - home of a real currency backed by gold, not paper. As for no franc in France, I guess that's where eurodollar.mobi will have to fill in.

I like your vetement.mobi and poeme.mobi
