If you were done regging .tv or you never owned one. Will the new pricing system have you reg new .tv ?

Voted no, as it's still only a ccTLD for the teeny isle of Tuvalu with a limited niche/vanity potential, IMHO. :red:
... AND ... I'm not entirely sold on this recently discussed proposed pricing scheme, as well! :guilty:

Thanks,
Jeff B-)

Voted Yes.

To all the people who are negative on this extension based on previous history...
Shit Changes.

This is a major game changer for the world of .tv as a serious competitor for its rightly deserved spot amongst other extensions now.

Shit Changes.

What has changed, definitively? :gl:

This is a major game changer for the world of .tv as a serious competitor for its rightly deserved spot amongst other extensions now.

How has it proven to be a "game changer", at this point in time?

Caveat emptor, IMHO.

Rental fees (Premiums) are gone!

Now there is a true value to each previously Premium .tv domain that wasn't there yesterday.

Well Jeff I would say its changed that if you are someone like Jimbo for example and did not want to pay the excessive reg fees for Manchester.tv it hampers you both as a developer and trying to sell the name. The game has changed because he can develop the name with no premium renewal. He could resell without having to explain premium pricing. One example of Game Changed. I am sure there will be more game changing examples.

ALL excessive Premium ".TV" renewal fees ... are completely gone forever? :yell:

Now there is a true value to each previously Premium .tv domain that wasn't there yesterday.

Which, their true value, is now a lot LESS than it was yesterday, correct? :red:

Thanks for the insight,
Jeff B-)

To your first question, Yeah, I believe so...I just regged 7 previous Premium .tv domains.
So as they quickly release the Premium priced .tv's I would say Yes.

Second ques,
No, The true value is worth a LOT more than yesterday.
Think about it, the middle man is gone.
I think the Premium for FortLauderdale.tv was $1500. so I would have to sell you that domain for $1600 in order to make $100.
(I don't own that domain, just an example)
Today if I regged it for $20.00 I could sell it to you for $1600, or whatever, and that is all profit, hence a true value now,
and you as the new owner would never ever have to worry about any crazy pricing hikes.
All you would have to worry about is your $20 to $40 a year!
Now that just became a lot more valuable than it was yesterday.

So those with existing "Premium renewal" fee .TV domains right now will also no longer have to pay these HEFTY annual fees going forward ... will they be refunded the :$: COSTLY Premium renewal fees they have paid in the past, as well? What about Premium renewal fees in the future ... are they gone COMPLETELY for all .TV domains that may now or one day be considered "Premium"?
Do you have a link for reference? :gl:

What if the best offer ... due to the FACT that it's still only a ccTLD Tuvalu ".TV" ... is only $200 or $150; and what about those folks that already own "Premium" .TV domains; are they losing the most today with this, as yet unverified, information? :yell:

Thanks,
Jeff B-)

Geez Jeff,
You're worse than Snoop!

I don't know all of the specifics.
You and I have both been involved in the last 5 or so threads pertaining to this .tv News.
Who knows the actual game plan, all I know for sure is there is a Huge auction on April 1st w/some killer .tv's (Business, Beauty, etc) that they have removed the Premiums from.
and
That today I was able to reg domains I have wanted for a long time that WERE Premium priced,
which are now Standard priced.

It's a good day for .tv fans,
Thats it.

Some .TV fans (and former .MOBI followers) said that I was the Snoop! :p

I don't know all of the specifics

Fair enough, but the SPECIFICS - and FINE PRINT - would seem to be pretty important! :gl: :imho:

Thanks,
Jeff B-)

LOL,

and I agree, the specifics are key.
Either way, even you would have to admit this is an exciting time for .tv fans.

I think you would have to ask MrRhee those questions.
He seems to be pretty "in the know".

So, when all the dust settles (after the stuff first hits the fan) ... all of those who feel cheated, to quote a previous observation in these threads, as former or existing HEFTY :$: "Premium renewal" .TV's should send their complaints and/or any potential litigation to his attention? :gl:
IYHO.

Exactly what has happened, capital value in some of these names. A very big change.

Jeff there is no legal claim here, hard feelings maybe. There is talk about something getting done for current premium registrant.

I cannot rule out possible legal fallout for those that may now feel "cheated" ... at this very confusing juncture, IMHO. :'(

n00b question!

Lots of discussions on .tv reg or no.

Background:

- I only have one .TV domain IIRC - troubleshoot.tv
- I saw directions.tv available during a routine search on name.com for $900

Can someone explain to me these - with so much noise, difficult to figure out the technicals.

- I see an excel on enom with price list for 23,000 supposedly premium domains (total worth USD 5mn)
- Were these never available for sale before? What are the renewal fees?
- so lets say, directions.tv is still available @ 900, is it worth it to pick it up? or say a fri.tv at 1100 USD

Seems like a very shady operation by enom to pick up money.

Cheers
