www.ancientstandard.com is the URL of a new blog I just launched the other week.

We just had the new design finished and added to the site (it's using wordpress). I would appreciate if you guys could take a look and critique the design, ad placement and what you think of the actual content.

Very nice website. I like the garphics and the way you use the colors. Ad placement is fine and the content just taught me a thing or 2 about acient histroy. lol.

You can tell you put a lot of effort into the layout and design, good job =)

The color scheme is fantastic, and I love the header... so much in fact I am going to have to ask - who did your design? (if you care to say). Good work.

Nice layout, the site flows, the images and colors work well. The only thing i'd add in the center is some level of divider between the articles, especially between regular articles and google ads.
Also, take the "sucks" part out. History and sucks never goes together. I'd change it to "not boring, doesn't put you to sleep, cool, etc." The suck reference is not a smart tag :imho:

Other than that, there's not much you can add that's not already there, without changing the entire site.

I actually love it :p the header is cool, the slogan umm is a bit misleading as history always sucks no matter what lol.

I love the way you put the amazon and the adsense.


Although i have one suggestion you can change this part? By: admin on April, 2007 into someting more attractive? i hav seen a plugin for wordpress which changes all the times to like "very late evening" "early moring" something like that since your blog is unique everything should be but heu its jus me :D

Bullseye, I own and operate my own design firm. We have a service ( www.easybydesign.ca ) We do wordpress blog designs and coding for the same price, but we require our customers to host the site with us as our design fees are next to nothing

gjsys, second person that has told me that...maybe I'll have to rethink that one...
