Heres my 5 cents: your not going to convince anyone to buy a domain name.

Just list domain name, where its at and expireing date. (maybe overture count, uses for domain)

You can add all the bs you want and it won't have a effect on the outcome. If the person is intrested in the domain they'll bid, if not then they won't. In the domain business the fluff isn't needed cause you want it or not, unlike a car where a list of fluff might convince a buyer how good it is.

Thats my opinion.

PPl who are going to put in money to buy this will have already done all of their homework.

1$ start price at the top. IT may have minor effect The rest can be on there but will have no effects on the auction IMO.

The question is not if anyone will bid on your domain.

The question is will the potential buyers find your domain ?
Ppl do care so much about auction designs, when in reality the main task is to make your buyers know that there is this auction closing soon.

Besides the normal auction enhacements here 2 hints that may help:
1) Self promotion (search NP for topics on this)
2) Google AdWords (depending on the name and target group there are many vey chap keywords available)

I couldn't disagree more.
You should pack as much info in as possible.
I would like to direct you to something which I wrote here: http://www.auction-talk.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=194.

An auction description is what sells the item. If you were an estate agent, would you say "if they want it, they will buy it, I just tell them the price" I don't think so. I work in sales, and things just don't work like that, you need to give people every reason under the sun as to why they NEED that product.

Sure for a physical product, for a domain I think the buyer needs to want the domain, when I've bought domains I never even read the long descriptions on why I 'Need' it, if I wanted it I would buy it, no one has ever convinced me to buy a domain. But thats just me and how I sell domains...

IMO, thats just you. It doesn't just apply to a physical product, but it applies to everything.
The person may not even won't, but if the listing jumps out at them, and there are enough reasons to, they will by the production no matter what it is.

Never us BIN with a normal auction, it limits the value of the item. In this case, you are telling people that its a very valuable .com, however the bin is just $30 odd.

So True :(

But 30$ is all i want it ca ngo higher but i need the cash :S

That maybe. However, on eBay it is psychological, people see a BIN and an auction together in one, they think that the item is worth less than the BIN and conseqentally, do not bid anywhere near the BIN.
