Except it has a meaning, CVCN has no good value. This pattern is not rare. But some sold good for Chinese, about XXX$ to XXXX$ to Chinese buyer. But I don't know how Chinese buyers determine the good one...

There are more than 100 available to hand register now, so it is not rare :

I can clarify this. Each number in Chinese is represented by a Han (Chinese character) which can be used either directly (as a character in a string of characters) or indirectly by it's phonetics (an English equivalent would be 2cool.com, but it's a bit more flexible Chinese).

So consider "screen" in Chinese: 螢幕 (píng mù) which sounds a bit like "píng wù" where wù means 5. So "ping5.com" could be a useful domain in China (not as good as pingwu.com, but still a fairly good domain). Some combinations are a bit more clever than others.

That said, going off random numbers isn't going to be a successful strategy since most combinations are just nonsense, and those with value are likely all registered. On top of that, numeric (or alpha-numeric) domains have no substantial appeal outside the Chinese market.

You would have to have a very specific plan for it considering there are so many similar ones available to register.
