Here is my day today... the life of domaining is not always roses.

Just substitute "Example" with a domain that makes sense for you.

ExampleINC.com
We aren't interested. You may get our account numbers and private documents via misdirected eMails, but why should I care about that.
:banghead:

Example.ca
We are happy with our domain and see no need for owning the .COM.

ExamplePros.com
Our business name is ExamplePros, not "Example".

Examply.com (The Example Professionals)
How much? We do 100 million in business every year but can't seem to bring ourselves to spend $15k on the domain that matches the industry we are in. We will pass.
:banghead:

I'm sure you have run into these scenarios as well.

What's more interesting is you actually got them to open your emails. But funny.

If only an opened eMail meant a guaranteed sale. My CTR/Response Rate is near 100% and the pitch is strong.

Sometimes domains are just not priority for buyers, but makes you want to give yourself a good ole head smack. Typically keeping it in a fair range that I would say yes to if someone approached me with my shortest exact match.

Just as many reasons to say "yes" as there are to say "no".

Haha hilarious.
They just don't get it.

In their minds they probably feel if they made 100 million with the domain they have then they don't need an upgrade. But I am pretty sure with the upgrade they can make a ton more though as you guys mentioned they simply do not get the benefit.

This is someone you follow up with though in the case they change their minds. Keep sending them material on how other huge companies benefit from obtaining the .Com and educate them as best you can.

At least you got some responses. I sometimes don't get anything back, only a couple views a day from tracking the emails I sent.

I guess they're not too educated with owning their exact match .com.

The last scenario with a brandable version of the word-sometimes the brandable word might look more modern and interesting than the original boring keyword to the company. Although I see the benefit to redirecting traffic of alternate names to the chosen name sometimes they are just happy with their brandable.

On 2 of my one word domains I get daily emails of people wanting me to buy their two word domain that contains my word. Not going to give the actual words out but for example sake just because I might have box dot com doesnโ€™t mean I want every variant of a two word with box.

More annoying to me is exact match where they donโ€™t like your price and go register the net.

This is just part of the domaining @DomainVP.

If businesses understood the power of the internet, everyone on this forum would be much richer. :)

There was a .com, both the xxx-xxx.com and xxx-xxx.jp didn't want to buy. And there hadn't been a new company. So that domain was dropped after keeping for 5 years.

On a related note - Boots.com is the website for a major chain of UK chemist shops, and, you've guessed it, their trading name is "Boots". Now the interesting bit - I noticed that they've picked up the hack Boots,ie, and I've seen this on a few shopping bags. It seems to be the website for their Irish company. I think it's a great name.
