One question: If I have some very brandable .JP names, would someone buy it?

I am living in Japan now. I speculated .jp names for several days and found they are not very hot probably for the most expensive reg fee in the world.
But I found some names are brandable and still available.
I am wondering if it is deserved to have a try for some .jp names.
Could the .jp names be selled or lie in my hand and etch my money with the annual fee embrassment?
Could some one give me an advice?
I search all .jp related issues in namepros, but still not decided to have a try.

I would NOT reg any brandable .jp domains--the reg fee is too much. I would only reg generic, short, one word .jp domains that will be worth money (i.e. casino.jp, poker.jp, food.jp, etc.)

You might want to try checking keywords like tour, hotel, home, house, car, golf, fish, sushi, travel, fly, beer, wine, credit, mortgage, music, etc.

I checked. They are off now.

Unless the .jp domain is meaningful, it'd be pure garbage.

Japan is really greedy with their .jp domains. IMO a brandable .jp domain has value only if parking revenue > reg fee.

yeah go for top paying keywords or else dun regged it.. the reg fee is too high..but if its poker.jp then is another issue buts its regged oredi..

If you got brandable name in English for a .jp, probably it is useless.
Sorry if I am insulting Japanese, but majority of Japaneses does not speak English very well.

I will try one and report here about the result of registration tomorrow.

.......The majority of the English don't speak English very well. :)

Re websites it is the reading ability which counts.

Re registrar options, jp-domains is still the best one IMHO, but the above comments still do apply ie carefulness in selecting a name to register. I have 3 and none of them pay for themselves via CTT...and all 3 have been re-regged once. Not even sure if I want to sell them ..strangely
