.tv Number of .TV sites listed in Google

I thought someone had started a thread early on in this TV forum showing the number of .TV sites showing up in Google. I couldn't find it, so I thought it would be a good idea to have an "official" .TV site tracker (maybe we could make this thread "sticky").

Anyways, the current # is 14,200,000 as of May 8, 2006.

It looks like the "porn" .tv sites got bumped by "content" rich sites this time around. That's good news.

btw: You're a fool if you plan on selling your .TV sites right now. My advice would be to "hold"....if you have a made for .TV name (and yes, Madefor.TV is available) I'd definitely pay to keep that renewed. The "businesses" for these .TV sites aren't here right now. In time they will be... and you can bet they'll be looking for quality .TV names...

As of June 25, 2006 there are 23.4 Million .TV sites...

Do the math... That's a huge jump since the last reporting.

Looks like there are a lot more content rich sites in the search results since the last time I checked.

...and way less than .us which includes everything under the sun including state.us and gov.us.

(Seriously... do a "site:.in -co" ... with that you only get 23Mil .in)

A MUCH more accurate picture of a domains success is not by GOOGLE but by YAHOO. I see SEDO pages pop up on google searches.

1 - 10 of about 6,020,000 from .in
1 - 10 of about 8,520,000 from .tv
1 - 10 of about 137,000,000 from .us

As mentioned about in my post, it is only 14.6M at 06-26-2006!

p.s. another interesting thing, .cc is also getting hot. it is 29.5M now.
