Nominet v. GoDaddy

Two questions:

I registered a handful of .co.uk and .org.uk names from Godaddy (one was two registered Februaries ago and and several were from late Fall 05)

1. Recently I received an email regarding the name from Feb 04 saying that it was going to expire, even though Godaddy showed that it had auto-renewed (for another 2 year term). I added another year to the term just in case at Godaddy, but did not do anything at Nominet.

Q1: Should I be concerned or not about this or nor or are their systems just slightly out of sync?

2. I have separately received confirmation of registration letters from Nominet regarding my Fall 05 registrations that look legitimate and that ask me to manage my contact info at Nominet.

Q2: Do I need to do this separately from what I am doing at godaddy.com?

ps I apologize if this is a "newbie" question...but I would not exactly consider myself a newbie to this...it seems like Nominet has changed procedures which might make this question applicable to more than just me.

Why not check the WHOIS details of your *.uk domains at Nominet?

Chances are, Go Daddy's a reseller for a .uk registrar. It's really no different
from a hosting company-reseller for Go Daddy.

Nominet ask you to confirm your details, just make sure you do it on the actual Nominet site.

Are any nameservers set for the .co.uk domain name? In an odd rule, Nominet has the right to terminate domain names without any nameservers. I am not sure if the rule is still in effect, but I will try to see if I can find it.

I know it is called Detagged, and after the detagged cycle, they become available again.

Just might be something you want to check.
