Two adult .live domain names sell for $280,000

Rightside scores big bucks from two .live domain names.

Rightside has sold two premium domain names under its .live top level domain name for a solid price.

The company disclosed today that it sold Sex.live for $160,000 and Porn.live for $120,000.

The buyer is using whois privacy and a white label service offered by Duodecad IT Services Luxembourg S.à.r.l to launch sites on the domain names.

Last week, Rightside announced that domain name investor Chad Wright purchased three .games domain names for an undisclosed six-figure sum: Free.games, Shooting.games, and Racing.games.

It’s clearly shaping up to be a good few weeks for Rightside’s premium sales team.

Yeah, I m following the sales on namestat.org and most come from discounted regs <$1 bought in bulk, majority from Chinese often in strings that don't make sense to Chinese.

Lies, Damn Lies and citing registrations stats.

The volume alone is pretty meaningless what matters is why they are being bought.

They are busy inflating the zone file. I wonder why?

I still find new gtlds way more attractive as for myself This is a solution for us rookies to grab some keywords. Because most of these were registered long time ago in popular extensions.

One of the more recent additions was ".stream". On a server that usually has rather low mail volume each month, that extension was responsible for over 60,000 spam messages (and none valid) in just 15 days.

It seems that .stream is mostly good for spam. It's not surprise that it is popular when it costs only 50 cents.

In my opinion these low cost domains could do more harm than good to the nGTLD program.

In my opinion, all domainers need to consider how critical it is when building your business to have the .com version of your domain name, and if you have a .net or a .org, its just never as good, never the same, and not a solid-enough foundation for the competitive world we all live and work in.

These new gTLDs are likely even worse.
