ok... whats the difference between 1.5.0.4 and that bon echo? Because I can't see a visible difference! :o

1.5.0.4 is the stable release of Firefox, bon echo is the alpha release of Firefox 2.0
As the alpha releases are usually unstable, they only recommend you use them for testing and not everyday use.

How can I change my Firefox settings so it can update by itself when a newer version comes up?

Tools > Options > Advanced > Update. Then just check the appropriate boxes.

It'll usually update itself 24-48 hours after they release the new download.
