I usually get these kinds of questions on LinkedIn. People ask me: “My domain registrar sold my expired domain, why don’t I get anything from that?”

Turns out, in some cases, they actually have a chance to receive a share from the expired domain sale, even if they forgot to renew. Pretty cool.

Unfortunately (though perhaps that’s not the right word), the one-year renewal fee does need to be paid, but I do have a coupon code for 10% off any order, including transfers.

The code (LEONID10) won’t work for transfers, only for new domain registrations.

However, you can still transfer any domains you plan to drop, and in the meantime, register new ones if you’d like.

my domains are at fabulous.com, and when they expire, occasionally they'll get bids on NJ/Snap.
according to my settings, when a domain gets sold in auction, then i get percentage of that sale.

Namejet Revenue Share for vitaorg.com

$195.00

i paid $5 + renewal fee for it and put it on my perpetual list starting from 2015 of two-word domains for sale.

Actually, we’re running a .com transfer promotion right now, $10.80 USD per .com transfer, which is the same price as our Discount Program registration rate for .com.

After the AFD is reduced to almost nothing, these kinds of activities by most registrars may prevent the domain registrations from a huge decline.
