Need a New Review and Suggestion for My Blog

My Investing Blog has changed a lot since I started it in October of 2011. I have received a fair bit more daily traffic and several keywords and pages have landed me on the first page of Google.

However I have been having some second thoughts about the main page layout. I do like the look overall and like the format.

Here are my Concerns:

• Is the Slider on the Home Page Really Necessary?
• Have I Got Too Many Unrelated Categories?
• Am I Updating Now Too much?
• What is the Home Page Missing?
• What are My Pages Missing? I Feel There Needs to Be More Depth?
• Are the Ads too Much, too Little or Not Relevant Enough?
• Does the Site Feel Comfortable Viewing?

Recently I have signed up for some guest blogging services and have just gotten hit with so many submissions it is hard to keep track of. I have said no to very few cause it gives me more unique content and saves me tons of time. Am I wise to keep this going?

I have also neglected social media such as Facebook and Google +1 for a lack of time and trust in security. Am I missing out?

My next idea is to start producing some guest posts too for those relevant in my area of interest. I also want to find a forum similar in comfort ability like this one, but more towards investing.

I also need more pages of content, which I will work on soon, as like the pillars, rules and general basics of investing.

Not a big thing, probubly wouldnt make much difference but there is a lot of white space under and to the right of the logo, perhaps a header image/bg of some sort or even having the text logo written side by side. Nothing too in your face/wild just something?

I like the slider and the side bar looks fine.

I'm not a designer so perhaps what I think isnt the best way to go.

Thanks for the advice. I have been having issues with the logo and will definitely need to hire for a new one. My ultimate goal is cleanliness and ease of use.

It is a good looking, well designed site, I just struggle to read the text. For me at least that is a major turn off, maybe younger eyes would not have a problem.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions and criticism. Text and font is one thing I have been having a lot of trouble deciding on. There are so many different readers, ages and devices to take into consideration.

The bar at the top is also a work in progress. I had initially placed pages and categories up there but found from Webmaster Tools it was the one spot in which the fewest visitors were clicking. I am now considering a headline up there or figuring out how to just get rid of it.
