They said that they will give free domain in co.uk extension.
I registered the domain and they took £1 from my card. Although a few days passed, the domain name was not registered. I opened the ticket, they told me that my money will be returned to the card, but it was not refunded, although 1 month passed.

so I signed up to donate 1 pound to their site. I realized later.

Hmm... that whole story sounds ... odd. Could it perhaps have been a preauth that didn't drop off as it should have? Assuming you didn't miss something in the fine print (i.e. money to pay for some other service, like hosting?) did you speak with your financial institution?
