Hello NP,

This should be in the Pre-Purchase appraisals but I figured since I'm not mentioning the domain it's not the right "fit" for that thread. I'm sure mods will put it in the right "spot".

Anyways.

I like starting threads that get people talking (as you can tell)
So I have a chance to buy an AGED domain (To be announced later if I buy)
It's been registered since 2004. The "ask" was $3000. I bargained it down to $2200.
plus it's a single word domain.Brandable too.

I wanted the deal to be done thru Escrow.com but this person seems to want to go thru Sedo and wants me to pay the 3% sales tax. (should I question this?)

just on age alone is $2200 a fair price for a domain regged since 2004 but has 1 drop?

now here's the kicker. A similar domain (developed) sold for $30+ million few years back. (I won't tell)

(but I bet you all will start to do some research to figure out what that domain is right now just for fun.)

so back to my question. is $2200 a good price all things considered?

It's a big move for me doing this.

worse case scenario realistically this single word domain is 7 times cheaper than thee ask price of a similar domain that's a 2 word domain.($15K)

So I could sell quickly maybe to that 2 word domain owner for a quick flip. or prepay for 10-20 years renewal and wait for that "retirement money" lol?

yea yea I'm a dreamer but I really did my homework on this one. I wish I could spill the beans but to protect myself I rather keep quiet.

Nah relax. Not you. Either way whoever. Whatever. It's all "nonstick" lol

I think from now on I just came up with a great idea there for NP as a new rule of conduct.

We all know saying something negative whether in good faith or not at the end of the day since NP is public and permanent it's automatically negative. And potentially hurts value whether intended or not. So why not remove all doubt and simply PM the person your negative comments?

See posting negativity just has a "stink" to it.

I'm sure many will disagree. And say " but I just wanna help!" Then do it via private message!

No need to put salt on an already open wound.

See that's where intent becomes questionable.

But whatever. People will do what they wanna do so guess what? I'll do what I need to do to protect my interests.

When in doubt? I shoot first ask questions later.

Wanna remove all doubt? PM your negativity. My door is wide open and all are welcome.

Some people will be haters just to feel better about themselves(those that never sell anything). Others may be jealous because they failed to distinguish the opportunity as it relates to something they are relatively familiar with. Just let them hate most people reading this thread can sense their intentions.

Best of luck with this name, I think it'll pay off.

Thanks bro! True true but you never really know who is reading these threads. Probably not even members.

But potential enduser buyers.

I'm sure when I finally pitch this domain to Putin he'll do a Google and find this thread.

Lol I wish!

As for a bit of luck I've got my lucky rabbit's foot , fingers and toes crossed.

Sure 4pm's comment could be in good faith but i was raised in the hood and people try that "in good faith" negativity all the time and it's almost never "in good faith".

sorry again, i didnt know negative comments were not welcomed here.
just gave my opinion. hope i'm wrong.

wish you good luck anyway :)

ps. no, i have not offered to buy the name via PM. not planning to either... probably that was Putin. ask for his paypal email and check if it's on kremlin.ru domain...

I think I've said this repeatedly I welcome negative comments. But perhaps it's best to send the via pm. As np threads are public and can be seen via google. That's all.

Updating this old thread. Sent email to Kremlin.ru and made a plan to visit the Russian embassy in NYC but procrastinating. It's summer and I'm a shorts t-shirt kinda guy! Lol do I have to wear a suit and tie just to let them know Primorsky.com is available ? Lol I'll probably end up on some homeland security watchlist! With my luck!

My other plan is going with Ereleases.com and pay for a press release for primorsky.com and promote my domain marketplace.

Check them out soon they have a 30% discount on their pro plan service that includes Press Release writing service.

They told me to get picked up your press release needs to be eyecatching and news worthy.

I wonder if

"Primorsky.com For Sale $8,888,888"

Is sensational enough? And then mention also my domain market MARKETDN.COM

They send out to supposedly 100,000+ outlets with guaranteed 150+ news outlets.

They basically are PRNewswire resellers but cheaper.

It is my hope that people will read it just because of the huge price. And then visit my domain marketplace hopefully getting traffic. Passively.

Thoughts?

Is this a good idea or no?

I registered DarkOpera.com in 2002, and estibot values it at $25. :) (and there aren't any drops)

Yea well estibot is crap! I have better chance of accurate estimates throwing darts at a wall full of post it notes with prices from $1 to $1 million!

It's Friday and I'm exceptionally unmotivated to read through 9 pages of posts. :-D Did you end up buying that domain for $2,200 and what was it?

Strange you should say that. I was thinking of making a fun site that ptoduced a random value for domain names.

Lol it's ok I'm lazy too on Fridays. Yup! I 'usssed him down to $1000. Gave him the whole Schpeel that:

"Years on sedo with no views and no offers?
"And no traffic and backlinks and has drops?"

Lol I almost convinced my self not to buy it! I told him that too!

So I think he figured might as well sell since God knows when it will ever get an offer .

Who knows ? Maybe he got the better of me?

Time Will tell. Meantime 3 casinos at $500 million or more a piece are slated to be built in the next two years.

The first one already handed over $8 million in taxes to Russia . ( Tigre de Cristal . Owner Lawrence Ho son of " king of Macau" Stanley Ho)

That casino only cost $55 million to build and already made $500 million in revenue couple months back.

I'll hold this for 5-10 years for retirement.

Putin with this gambling zone is targeting China. A customer base of 1.9 billion.

Most are avid gamblers.

I like this. There is that new browser Opera.

Perhaps a Darkweb version of Opera?

At the time I registered that, there was a craze for "dark" domains. These crazes seem to hit the domain industry fairly regularly. Everybody has to collect names with a specific keyword. Six months later, nobody wants them. I think I've got rid of all my other "dark" domains, but I kept SatansSlave.com.

Now that'll be fun. I can easily refer domainers there when they quote estibot numbers

The other one that I thought of creating was a reversal of the process. You enter a cash value, and it gives you a domain name that is estimated at that value. :)
