Muzu.tv signs lucrative new deals

Irish-based music video website Muzu.tv has signed a number of video syndication deals that will see its content made available to major publishers including AOL Music, the Telegraph Media Group and Bebo.

Under the agreement, Muzu.tv will make its music video library and video player available to partners in return for a share of advertising revenue. The company, which provides a legal music service, has also signed agreements with the Irish Independent, Communicorp, Spinner UK, Drowned In Sound, Habbo Hotel, Virtual Festivals, Mama Group, Meanfiddler, and the Fly Magazine.

Muzu.tv's figures say the site is serving more than 14 million music related videos in the UK every month.

The video site, which says its traffic is growing at 20-30 per cent month on month, has also formed a preferred partnership music agreement with InSkin Media, which develops and delivers premium interactive online video ad formats. This latest deal means sites that want to use these advertising formats around music video can use the Muzu.tv player.

Chief executive Ciaran Bollard said the new deals provide a "compelling proposition" for its partners, including brands, artists and labels.
