Monetizing 'sin' words into mini sites - What avenues are there for advertisers?

I would like to do a mini site with W-E-E-D .dot.com but I don't know what companies would even like to be associated with sites of this nature. When I type 'weed' into google no ads come up. I see amazon might be an avenue. Any ideas how to monetize this 'keyword'?

Use adsense. I am sure they will come up with something lol. Just because you think of the mary j when you think of "weed" does not mean you have to make a site about it. You would prolly be more profitable with a site about how to kill weeds or something to that effect.

Interesting... I wasnt even thinking about weed control ect lol.

Anyone with experience with 'sin' sites and making money with them?

I don't think going after weed control ads on this one is a good idea. Its not that it wouldn't work, but there is bound to be TONS more traffic on the dark side. Just human nature.

I don't have any real experience with it, but you might be able to find the right affiliate link to turn this into a cash cow. Something for a smoke shop maybe.

If you really wanted to go big, you could turn it to a Pro Legalization site with petitions and articles and your very own non-profit org. (assuming your not a stoner and don't have anything to fear from the DEA) Come up with a really cool acronym that fits your domain name and the cause... Then you can collect hefty donations to support your non-profit and pay yourself to manage it. All while still advertising to the junkies who come to your site to sign petitions. The best part of this is that your "followers" will promote your site for you because they believe in it.

You may want to try to get ads from big "coffeeshops" and"mushroomshops" in Amsterdam(google them) which depend on traffic from tourists.
They might believe that for example w-e-e-d.com could get enough interested visitors.

Very good ideas. I don't know about promoting/legalizing drug use. I like being able to cross the border freely lol -'Sir, bend over' really scares me. Hhhmmm who knows, just picked up H-E-M-P .dot. com as well. Lots to think about.
