I think we can fairly say that the public has been made aware of .mobi :lala: :kickass:
Bank of America has this on their site:
"A New Way to Bank
Mobile Banking is now available to Online Banking customers at www.bofa.mobi from your cell or smart phone browser"

Yes but it's hidden on a subpage so unless you look for it...you won't see it.
Stil it's not terrible news just not as exciting as if the NYT mentioned mobi itself in the article.

labrocca said:bofa imho is very good news for mobi overall...bank of america is huge...however the times article doesn't really highlight it in the article so those who don't online bank with boa aren't made aware of mobi. If bofa.mobi would have been in the print I think that would have been a solid boost for mobi.
i found this quote to be really interesting, it shows the real strength of mobi inso far as it highlights the cost of doing things by phone, mobi sites will be by far the least expensive to use in terms of bandwidth so i see this as a real positiveFor example, checking my balances, making a transfer and confirming a few payments totaled 244 kilobytes, plus one text message, on Citi Mobile. Total charges from AT&T: $2.59. So, if someone used mobile banking as freely as dropping by the local A.T.M., it could get costly.

panman said:I've mentioned this in another thread but i'll post for those who didnt know (or might like to know) is that in Australia, all the major banks have their .mobi
ANZ is the only one forwarding .mobi to their PCwebsite-not promoting mobile banking
The others are NAB.mobi-National Australia Bank, COMMBANK.mobi commonwealth Bank, BOQ.mobi-Bank of Queensland.mobi, Westpac.mobi. I am quite sure that banks would love to have their mobile version up on mobile phone screens in due time!

All of these australian banks have more customers then bankofamerica-bofa.mobi and so this is huge news too!
