I’m always amazed that so many large companies have no idea what a marketing name is. A domain that is only used to forward to a section of their website. They spend millions on production and air time but use some hash or hyphen to get them there. Or they use a QR code that requires one more action. Instead they can come up with some catchy slogan to brand around which will lead there. JustDoIt.com was a great example of one that worked. Now it leads to the Nike main site. BeLikeMike.com does not lead to Gatorade. Huge missed opportunity. Domains can be powerful and memorable and not utilizing that power is a mistake so many advertising professionals miss. Again, ridiculous given the amount of money these companies are giving to their ad teams or hired PR firms...
