Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

MetaverseHub.com

Welcome! :)

In regards to meta domains selling for mid xxx,xxx + it's not a matter of if but when.

I don’t like this quote because I (and I’m sure others) have seen it many times in other niches, as said VR springs to mind straight away.

CHIPs was all on the go once, people buying random LLLL.com’s, even other extensions, 1 investor paid 7 figures for thousands of random LLLL domains in some random extension. 1 day CHIP domains were in demand and it was like overnight, they became junk!

It was the same with NN.com’s when Chinese companies was buying them all up, whilst these domains are still valuable, they are no longer guaranteed millions and I saw investors pay millions to acquire some of these domains.

NFTS are selling (BAYC specifically), because demand is there, but in BAYC it’s an investors market, all of it is driven by investors trading amongst themselves and because demand is there, ape owners can ask for what they want. When money is no longer to be made on these pictures and it will happen some point, value will decrease, so it’s no good 1 buyer still holding out for 7 figures for their ape, when it’s too late, you had your chance when the market was hot.

Right now ‘meta’ is the BAYC of domains, I have never seen anything like it in my time investing, but I (and a few others) have given theories why we have seeing these abnormal sales and if these theories are true, then 1 week non .com hand regs won’t carry on selling for mid-5 figures.

Yes right now you can ask for what you want for ‘meta’ domains, but I still maintain if you are serious about selling you have to adapt to the market/demand and domain owners don’t dictate that, just as they never with CHIPS/NN.com’s. What makes a great investor is knowing when to cash out and knowing when to stop investing.

Getting some interest in

Metaverse Marketing
Metaverse Games
ARverse

From marketing companies and startup founders but real early, no reason to sell now unless an offer that I can't refuse, not even a reason to counter as price always goes up lol

Metaverse games and marketing are taken in 28-26 extensions and growing by the day.

You’re comparing Apples To Oranges here.

Over thinking it as well.

Crypto, bitcoin , ethereum and NFTs (Non fungible Tokens) did not exist for during chips nore related.

However NFTs and Crypto and the Metaverse are heavily connected to the function of the Metaverse.

This type of money/ (crypto money) wasn’t around during chips.

There is unreported sales daily in this niche and I’m sure NDA is in place on a a few. I know of one that has sold 6figs.

This niche isn’t going anywhere, the hype on the sales will at some point level out as the names get taking sold or used that’s obvious.

I’ve said it over and over, if you’re active in the NFT community or Crypto & Degens community you will have a better broader understanding at what’s truly taking shape and how it’s all interconnected.

no surprises here for me.

Also the recent big .co .net Pay sales …with a bit of digging, and due diligence you might just figure out who or should I is say (which) company was buying. (No need for crazy theories) ask yourself what makes the most since and it’s more than likely the answer ;)

GL

ps…the meta regs are getting completely ridiculous at this point, but there's a good learning lesson there.

Btw I totally agree with @Kingslayer about the fact that we won't see many more of the 5 figures sales of fresh regs in extensions that are not .com

I think the only real good one that was purchased was a fresh reg of metaavatars in com

It was the .net that was purchased not .com

I was offered at Sedo $ 1000 for metaverse.property .
I made a counter-offer Euro 1 000 000 and the buyer has not yet rejected it. Probably waiting to see if Zuckerberg will name his parent company Metaverse.
Wouldn't I be cheap then? I can earn a lot more from real estate in the Metaverse. Alexa rating is growing among competitors.
Although I still have metaverse.estate and metaverse.homes .

There has been homes in the metaverse that has already sold for mid xxx, xxx. Tokens.com is big, very bullish, and leading in that sector. Follow their ceo on linkedin

That's why I kind of cornered the market in that sector ;). Realestate in the metaverse is going to be a massive economy. You shouldn't sell cheap

@DomainBarracksRob I know what ‘Meta’ represents.

And there are NDA in every niche and there was reported 6 figures sales in VR too for non.com’s (VR.S*x and VR.P*rn).

But what are you saying in this quote:-

This type of money/ (crypto money) wasn’t around during chips.

If crypto money was around during the CHIP craze it would still be carrying on?

Just because crypto is around now, doesn’t mean this is monopoly money and people want to give it away, yes there are a lot of dodgy things that happen with crypto money on the web, but most people who invest in crypto do it to make money, not give it away. If people want to give it away, they are doing something dodgy with it and I’d go as far to say the buyers of the non .com hand-reg meta names recently for mid-5 figures, wasn’t expecting these sales to be made public, hence why 2 of these sales was done on Dan, a site that doesn’t disclose sales publically.

Yes i believe 'meta' domains have a great future (great keywords .com's), but if people are expecting their 5 day Metasweepingbrush.top handreg to sell for $49,000 this week, then i'm sorry to be that guy to everyone reading this who think that is going to happen, you have just as much chance stepping outside and being struck by lightning.

I just got an email. I should be able to post another big sale soon. I didn't think this one was going to go through.

While you spend time discussing other peoples' and companies' money and how they choose to invest it, I'm going to stay pricing my domains as aggressively as possible because their are clearly entities out there where $50K on a .net and much higher on .com is a walk in the park for them. I wish I could share some sales with you guys to elucidate on the topic.

One thing I agree on is that this gravy train isn't going to last forever, but in the mean time... this is a rare opportunity. No need to overthink it.

So cheers! Happy hunting everyone. Stay aggressive.

.

Not what I'm saying at all. Why I never liked texting during a discussion because context and tone are rarely conveyed. lol..it happens

Of course it wouldn't continue to go on.

I'm saying as to the High Prices. you have more money in the market than EVER and it's easier to move/pay than EVER. And that money "crypto" is the "building blocks" of the places in the Metaverse that you will be spending that "money" (coin) on.

( btw NFTs Art were truly meant to be viewed in the Metaverse up close an personal Beeples Record breaker, looks completely diferent it's more like going on a art tour) I'm getting off track sorry

No, no one is going to "throw money away" as you say, but at the same time when these folks want to get sh8T done and skip the games all these sellers want to make......".SURE send the guy the 20eth and get the deal done" because time is valuable and 20eth is NOTHING when its coming from A wallet with 43,857ETH!!!!!!

(edit: This also includes huge companies that have plenty of cash to buy as well, not just eth/crypto)

I'm not saying anyone with eth will just throw money away, I'm saying BOTH parties need to know the value of what they have and need and yes recorded breaking sales will take place.

I AGREE with you heugiomypurplewagon.Top Day 10 old will NOT sell for $40K or ever!

When I speak, I speaking, referring to the absolute BEST quality names that add and have vaule to the niche

NFTs changed the game for collectibles, games, they changed due to the utilization of crypto, and if anyone whom thinks crypto isn't change domains/aka SALES on DIGTAL ASSEST....then that person is not absorbing the information that the world and internet is providing to the best of their abilities.

btw

This week I received a $1,500 on a "longtail" HandR LESS than 1 month old.

Not dodgy but defensive regs.

In any case ill say it here, ill do my best to reject any NDA :)

lol... tell them this.... My business is predicated on the dissemination of sales data for growth and marketing. However, I am inclined to sign this NDA and release those rights and growth opportunity for an additional $xxx, xxx on asking price.... boom $100K+ in the bank!/// lol there is an opportunity there

It's officially on Namebio. Congrats again @Sumeeth

SOLD

Meta Avatars ./net
$44,000 usd

10/3

The combination of two leading keywords Meta and Avatar! What an industry we are a part of! Exciting times!

(not my sale)

In honour of this sale, I regged MetaTerrestrial(s).net few days ago. I think it's a nice synonym for avatar in this context lol. It's a play on extraterrestrial & the metaverse should have metaterrestrials just like the universe has extraterrestrials. Hope I get lucky and get a 5 fig sale in the next 2 weeks..

I also got MetaTerrain.xyz & MetaTerranean.com..

See this is what i don't get and why it could be a concern for average 'meta' domains going forward and why i think it 'may' not carry on.

Them starting at $20k for a 2 week old .net and with respect non-premium and just accepting your counter says to me they are trying to get rid of money, i mean a guy sold a long tail double worded plural.co registration for $50k+ last week.

Doesn't that set a few alarm bells off? I wish someone would dump some money on me, so it's fantastic for you guys right now who have made these great sales and congrats, but I'd go as far to say this as never happened in domains before and it goes against the rule book in what to invest in and how much these domains 'should' sell for, so surely I'm not the only 1 who senses something is not right.

I don't think it's that serious. From my experience in NFT market, there is a shit ton of money & people are willing to blindly splash 5 - 6 figures on things just due to hype & having too much money. I think the influence of James & Andy Booth in BAYC also has an effect on the domain space, especially in NFT related keywords like META..

Their success in flipping BAYC for millions definitely has put millions of fresh eyes on domains as good investement opportunities + James kinda owns and uses the @Domain username on twitter so there's that..
