A not bad name, but that is a small part of the bigger picture. The reason to pay a lot of money to list a job is for the marketing and audience. Marketing of the site and establishing it as a quality brand, drawing in an audience, but also retaining it, getting them to register, etc. So, for such a start-up, a lot of marketing and outreach would be needed, and this is where the bulk of the cash would be spent. In such a scenario, I would only want to allocate a small amount to pay for a domain name. About mid £xx plus the Nominet transfer fee.

I have set up a number of successful job-sites (e.g. TownPlanningJobs.com) and I understand your point about marketing etc. I'd put all my time into this, but I only develop niche job boards for the built-environment sector and this falls out of my scope. Would you be interested in paying more if I developed it for you?

You might get more by approaching existing general job sites to see if they want is as an "upmarket brand".
