That is ridiculous. He went in with a warning and knew better. Ever since the first chat room sue about the kiddy porn on Yahoo! people think they can sue for anything in chat rooms and make $. It is another one of those get rich quick themes...

I think it's great. People need to learn how to act. If you wouldn't do it in "real life" then why would you do it in the virual world? People are going to find out that the web isn't as anonymous as they would like to believe. You would think nothing of it if someone took out a paper ad and posted humiliating info of them in physical print, why would this be different?
Just because I can't see your face doesn't give you anymore right to slander someone or harrass someone.

Yes, it would be great if every loser could just go out and bait people into flaming him so he can file a law suit.

This guy should be fined for wasting court time and prevented from ever using the internet.

Yes, and is it right to punch someone in the face if they annoy you in real life? Nope sorry. Your still going to go to jail.

If you are going to make an argument at least be sensible.

A punch in the face has nothing to do with some perceived abuse in a chat room.
If this person did not like the way he was treated in the chat room he should have left it, pure and simple.

Sorry, that's not how it works. Posting someones private info to strangers is a no-no, and they will be held responsible for their actions. Sorry.

Did you read the article?
The guy who is sueing is the one who posted the pictures, not the other way around. He is sueing because he was teased. Pathetic.

"...people think they can sue for anything in chat rooms and make $."

Maybe its not about the money, maybe it's about making mods do their job and ip's enforce their "TOS".
After all, that TOS is part of the binding contract that all side are "required" to follow.

That law was enacted after the events occurred so it can't be used retroactively.
That law is a totally seperate issue that slipped in under the radar and hopefully will somehow be repealed.

It's just another in a long long list of proof that congress, the senate and Bush are way out of touch with the real world.
