I want to ask if I can register on a market place and consequently list domains with another email address other than the one used in registering the domain?

doubt that would work mate. Marketplaces are like Nazi's these days. my best guess? 100% NO! don't even bother. it's like when selling an antique car. All the numbers must match.

Not sure what you mean exactly.

You can use any email address you want to open an account at a market place.

It doesn't have to be the same as the whois email or the registration email for your domains.

it doesn't? I was always under thee impression it all had to match the whois of your domains? I never bothered really just assumed it all had to match. I'll try and switch emails with my Godaddy and Sedo accounts see what happens.

learn something new everyday.

I use many different emails for market places and registering domains.

This is a security thing.

Not putting all your eggs in one basket.

It is a bit more trouble to keep tabs on, but it is worth the extra peace of mind.

If one account and/or email is breached you will not lose everything, just what is associated with the account or email that was compromised.

I use 2 factor auth on all accounts that offer it too.

I keep a spreadsheet to keep track of all of this and it works out alright for me.

I have most of my domains under privacy anyway, and I use landers at my own marketplace for inquires.

Just another layer of security.

We understand that domain portfolio owners use different email addresses for different domains . At our domain marketplace, http://www.lysted.com - you can register your account with one email and add other emails as 'Associated emails' - as the domains you are selling have to be 'whois verified'.

More details can be found at this Knowledge base article http://www.lysted.com/kba.php?kbid=5

Also our Domain management tool will help you keep track of the email addresses of the domains published. You can export the complete whois information out as well.

Best.

Shouldn't matter what email address you use to open an account at different market places.

I have emails that are different from the account email and are used for regs.

I haven't checked in a while, but I think GD lets you make more than one profile for your contact (whois) info and you can select which one you want to use for regging names, and even switch between them whenever you want.

There are some registrars that use the account email as your whois email when you first set up your account, but most allow you to go in and change your contact "whois" email to a different one from your account email.

I guess there are a few that don't allow this, but I think most of the good ones do.
