Hi
Recently I've been working on a database of hacked domains which can be source of really interesting, non-standard domain names.
What domain hack is.
I'm sure that most of you know what domain hacking is, but for those of you who don't, here is a short definition:
"A domain hack is an unconventional domain name that combines domain levels, to spell out the full "name" or title of the domain."
To demonstrate how it works in practise, here are a few examples:
- youtu.be
- flic.kr
- delicio.us
- inter.net
- pho.to
- ho.tel
- mcaf.ee
- ...
There are many more domains and websites like this...
And here a few hacks that can be made with upcoming extensions:
- mon.day
- work.shop
- tran.sport
- bed.room
- cam.ping
- k.now
- butter.fly
- ...
Domain hacking is fun and with so many extensions existing today, and so many that will come, there are many possibilities of creating interesting names. But finding and checking them "by hand" is too slow and painful. That's why I created the list of hacked domains to browse and find interesting ones easily.
How this database was created
The database was created by crossing a dictionary 100K most popular english words with almost 400 extensions and I'm sure everyone can find interesting names for himself in this list.
Domain's status was checked and marked accordingly as: 'available', 'taken' and 'upcoming'.
Database contains domains that are both available and taken and domains created with upcoming extensions which will be available for registration soon.
Domains which can't be registered due to various restrictions (e.g. too short name) was as far as possible excluded from the database.
Database contains over 30K domains, in 394 extensions (gTLD, ccTLD, upcoming TLDs)
Table has the following structure:
popularity (number representing word's popularity)
word (word from which domain was created)
domain (hacked domain)
label
extension
TLDtype (ccTLD, gTLD, upcomingTLD)
status (available/taken/upcoming)
word_length
domain_length
Column popularity represents number of the position of the word in the dictionary, so the smaller number the more popular word - it's like in Alexa rank.
In order to get the database please PM me or send an email to: tools for domainers @ gmail.com
I can provide data in the following formats: CSV, SQL, XLS
Price: 25$ via PayPal
