I've founded, named and operated quite a few different businesses in my lifetime, and since I discovered the domain industry I've been wanting to pose this question.

Typically left of the dot is the name of your business, brand or idea. In most cases it's unique to your business, but not necessarily. Unless there's a registered trademark that accompanies the name, right of the dot is pretty much moot, especially if you're looking to sell it.

It's been my observation and analogy that left of the dot is your, "home" and right of the dot is simply your "address/location/zipcode". Anyone see it differently?

I started a "White Paper" a while back about the domain industry, but never finished it:xf.frown: Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
