Hello,
I`ve just received an offer for a domain I`ve had for sale at nicdo.com for some time. I even forgot it was there.
When I posted it I wasn`t really planning on selling it so I posted a $1xxx price for it.Today I got a bid for it and I accepted it.
I am always aware of the scams (appraisal scam,etc.).
My real question here is , should I receive payment for this domain via paypal? Is there something he can do like chargeback or file a complaint to get his money back once I`ve transferred the domain?
I`m also considering escrow as a payment method.
Your experiences are greatly appreciated!

Yes I agree...It may cost you a little more, but I have a friend who got scammed a few months back...She got the name, but never the site....

Escrow'd be the way to go if you're aiming for safety.
Or you could transfer all funds from Paypal immediately to your bank and lock it.

If it's an amount of money you would care about losing, then yes, escrow.com is your best option (Or sedo.com or moniker.com or afternic.com or ALMOST any other escrow service).
Paypal is notorious for chargebacks and being pro-buyer rather than pro-seller.

Sedo.com. Your only safe choice.

escrow is a good choice for selling your domain, wire transfer is also ok.

They can paypal chargeback and steal the name. It's common.

There's ways to chargeback on Escrow.com as well. Your only safe choice is Sedo.com.

Don't use Paypal.
Firstly, you'll probably get charged 3% for the transaction, and secondly if you read the TOS (Terms of Service) on Paypal, it states that you cannot dispute chargebacks for non tangible goods, i.e domain names.
I have lost a few domain names buying through Paypal, where I paid for the domain names and never received the domains, Paypal did not even consider my case. :'(

Also if you do sedo and have sedo send you the money via paypal it will end up costing about 13% total. (10 to sedo and 2.5 to paypal)

Wondering if sedo can do a chargeback if something goes wrong?

It would be great if there was a flat fee escrow company!

Not theoretically impossible but has it ever happened? Can you provide an example?

Better use escrow than paypal. he might be a scammer and may file a charge back. Be at safer side
