.tv Just Bought A Name - For no reason other than I liked it! Have you done the same?

Like many here I'm not really in a big buying mood at the moment and tend to have many reasons before I commit to a name. Most notably that I actually have a plan for its future.

Today I bought a name on the drop - simply because I liked it.

Pure and simple - no big plan, just bought the name and was quite happy to have done so.

Christmas craziness or have others done a similar thing? If so what was the name?

Oh, and the name of this 'can't understand why I bought it domain'?

Yes, it has happened to me a few times too, although I try to remain reasonable! There are some names one just... likes!

Thanks Bigdipper, the more I think about it the more I can see it having 'purpose'.

BUT

When I bought it I didn't think about any of that. I just 'liked' the name. That's the weird thing. The name 'jumped' out, pure and simple.

No rationale whatsoever - just bought it like a newbie!!

Petal.tv sounds nice.

I feel the same way many times... I saw Daze.TV on the drop list... I had to have it... but I didn't know why. I know it is nothing spectacular, but it grew on me.

I done something sort of similar just a few weeks back with Haggis.tv
Though with the obvious Scottish connection then i imagine i'll find some use for it to go with scotland.tv eventually.

Haggis.tv was a drop but i was too lazy to be up at 9 to get it.
So Michael who spends half his life watching drops grabbed it for me % gave me it.

Petal.tv is not too bad Jimbo, make it a flower arranging video blog & i bet it does OK.

Well yes and no. I bought a lot of stuff in the beginning, and let a lot of stuff drop. However, what I have left is what I value the most myself.

They are names I want to develop. They may not have much value for resell as a name only, but developed they would do quite well to sell the sites. In most cases, all of them make more then enough as basic sites with google adsense to cover renewel fees.

In a couple of cases, they don't do much for adsense right yet, but once developed, they will draw the people that like those niches like I do, and they will do just fine.

At this point, I am really not buying or selling anything, just developing when I have time, and watching my adsense grow when I don't have time.

I will say this, month after month, my adsense is getting bigger and bigger, and I always get a nice check from google every month. My tv sites are a good contributor to that, so I have no reason to sell at this point. The only ones I consider selling, are the ones hitting $50 plus a month so I can sell them at 18 month revenue. But realistically, I have no reason to sell them at that point either.

I still search for things in my niches, but honestly most everything I want I have, or it is already regged.
