Hello guys.
I wonder if there is so called reseller price for domain names.
I am not talking about short or numeric domain names , but other types like keyword or dictionary names.
Many of domainers requesting domain names with reseller price, so while there is No standard price for that kind of domain names and the appraisal is vary, then how to determine the reseller price?
Thanks for all.

Traders usually ask this "reseller's price", they are expecting around 20 to 25% discount over your offer price. It is another matter that the seller is not even keeping 10% margin over his cost price.

A domain trader usually works for small margin, some times he expect that he may find an End User for his/her domain name (it is very hard to find one unless you have a lot a lot of patience). In this situation, someone asks for Reseller's price, as if the trader is a domain name wholesaler.
My experience so far in this regard have been that these Buyers will never buy any domain from you if they asks for Reseller's price. Because you will not be selling for a loss or the buyer will not be going to pay you higher either.

Thank you guys, even what you are talking about is vary.
For example : I have sent in the bast same domain to two buyers they asking for reseller price, one of them I have asked for $1,200 and he passed it, while the other one I have asked for $1,800 which he accepted it.

Reseller price is often around 20% of sales price for many non-liquid domains. I offer this for domains I do not wish to hold or have difficulties finding an end user for.

The advantage is you can make a quick sale and hopefully profit without having to wait 10 or more years for an end user to bid.

namePros, Flippa and direct contact between domainers often sell domains at or around reseller prices.

This is nothing unusual. The so called "reseller price" may vary from person to person depending on his/her domaining experience, own previous sales, sale skills, end user connections, etc. If for instance I know that I'll sell the name for $5k+ I don't mind paying $1.8k , on the other hand if (based on the factors above) I feel that the name may only sell for $1.5k I'd pass your $1.2k offer.

Generally the "reseller price" is subjective as hell, I don't think there are any "unwritten rules" that this should be 10% , 25% or whatever% from one's asking price... it's all down to "how much you need the money" as a seller vs "how confident I am that I could resell this fast and profitable" as a buyer.

Think "Pawn Stars".

Rick will buy items at a "reseller price". So someone may want $5k on an item appraised for $5k, but he is a reseller so he will want to buy the item for an amount that will make sense for him to take on the inventory.

That is the TRUE sense of 'reseller price'.... however....

Most domainers that are looking for 'reseller price' means that they want it for next to nothing, and are just using the term 'reseller pricing' as leverage in a negotiation.

Technically speaking... yes I believe there is a "reseller price". In my head I have this as the "projected value".

Since a domain may sell or may never sell (even a gem, may never sell for what is perceived as "fair market value")...a domain that could sell for $10,000 has a projected value of only say, $1,000. Why ? Because it may not sell after all...

So if you factor in the odds that a domain sells, and what price it actually sells for, you get a number that is WAYYYY lower than the price you would quote your ideal buyer LOL

Also keep in mind that the guy who paid $1800 could have already had a potential buyer for the domain for a much higher price which is why he grabbed it from you for $1800
