Is there any good names for sale here or are expired auctions the only way to get a good name?

That's not the problem really. End users usually don't do window shopping. They will go after one precise domain name they already have in mind, and possibly a shortlist of possible alternatives. Maybe a few will search a keyword and try their luck (and compare prices), but this isn't typical.
Domainers are always blaming the marketplaces, but how is that the fault of the marketplaces if nobody is looking for their domains in the first place...

Looking at the names on the vans in a large supermarket car park near here, I don't think that most people have any idea of the way to find a name for their business. In fact, I'm thinking of printing a large sign, and leaving it on my van whilst I am parked at the entrance. :)

I haven't tried to sell anything on here. First of all, we are all resellers here, so obviously anyone buying here needs to buy so that he may re-sell for a lot more. I respect that, but I'm not selling wholesale, but even if I were selling wholesale, I feel like people here are trying to buy for well below wholesale.

And then...these offers to buy (n):stop: posted on here, such as for example offering to pay 2% of estibot which estibot is notorious for underpricing domains in the first place. So someone is offering to pay just 2% of an already very low appraisal? I could post a sarcastic comment on almost every single Want to Buy (WTB) thread on here clowning the buyer, I mean, Are you kidding? but then it's not my place to comment on something if I'm not interested in participating in the offer anyway. But still I shake my head when I see what sort of "offers to buy" are posted on here, I hope I'd never sell any of my inventory that cheap. I assume that the sellers who do PM the buyers are offering some garbage that is not even worth the minuscule ridiculously low offers that the buyers are offering to pay - I doubt too many sales are concluded. More like, the namepros buyers are trying to trick the namepros sellers, and the namepros sellers are trying to trick the namepros buyers, and nothing gets done.

What majority offer sellers here is annoying. All in the name of reseller prices. I would rather keep my names for years to sell fairly

I think we will all agree on one thing that we can all learn a lot from here.

Besides that the offers to buy (Want to Buy) are ridiculously low, most of the domains being offered to sell are overpriced and sadly many are simply garbage too.

Even when you see what looks like a decent offer to buy it’s just click bait and the offeror is really saying that his entire budget, for example, is $2000 and he can afford to pay only fifty or so per domain, lol. I see through all this chicanery and don’t even bother to post responses.

That's true in my case. Which reminds me, I ought to have a clear out.

There is a huge difference in selling at wholesale prices or selling at reseller prices .. i am in resell for close to 40 years ( in Europe and here in the USA ) and whole is when people buy for pennies on the dollar , where resell prices are generally 50 percent of what retail prices are , at least when selling furniture, collectibles, books , antiques , art , real estate , cars ect . . With Domains it should be the same thing ... would not make any sense if not ...

So why is it nearly impossible to find on this forum anybody who is looking to buy at reseller prices ... my experience here in the forum is is 99 % of the time people trying to by at wholesale prices and next to never at reseller prices . I had some fair reseller sales here on the forum over the many years but they are now mostly gone ... I even had some really nice domains listed that I wanted to sell at wholesale prices ( last time it was a list of 50 or so domains for the same price you gave to pay when back ordering ) and there where many really nice ones in there . Absolutely nothing ... not one single person was smart enough to grab any of them . . Everyone here appears to think that f5whatacrappydomain4.realboring is a great domain .

Disagree a bit, reseller price usually can't be more than 10% of end user price as things stand.

True if you do not really need the inventory ... if you have plenty of inventory a reseller is not motivated . . However if you are needing inventory the price a reseller is willing to pay increases ,und usually up to 50 % if the reseller can flip it easy and fast ....i personally did that countless times ...( not with domains )

There are quite a few categories in retailing.

Premium retailer - offers a high end service with quality products
Standard retailer - sells mid-range products to consumers at average prices.
Discounter - sells a variety of products at discounted prices with a reduced service, but doesn't have a standard range
Wholesaler - a regular supplier of bulk products to retailers.
Liquidator - sells stock bought from bankrupt retailers or warehouse clearances.
Buying agent - buys products on behalf of clients.

There are more categories such aas auctioneers of course.

We have most of these in the domain industry, and price expectations vary between categories.

this remind me of an outbound I did recently, i offered 950..buyer offered 250..then i accept..
after accepting buyer said he did not mean to add zero ... that he meant $25
right there and then i concluded in my mind that i will rather renew this domain than to sell it that low...
what do buyer take we for?:xf.wink:
