I am in very destabilize situation because i can not find the perfect opinion to buy a 5 letter .com domain in thousands of dollars. It would be great if anyone of you help me in making my decision.

Thank you in advance.

Hi

a consultant can speak on legal issues regarding the business
however, he may not be qualified to advise which names to buy or how much to pay for them

sure, the expense can be charged against revenue, but for a startup, half of that amount of cash could be applied to other areas of the company/

there are much better domains available, which may describe the type of service, for less than $20k

imo...

Not sure but my consultant said he can make this deal in less then $20000. This price is making me confuse and that's why i am here for suggestions.

If you have good names for sell, feel free to suggest and tell me the price.
I happen to specialise in five letter domains (owning hundreds) and I would not even hand register cludx.com. It’s not a good idea to start a business on a name that looks like a $9 name.

To get an idea of values for short brandables, I’d like to suggest you peruse sites like Brandpa.com and BrandBucket.com. Or try googling “brandable domain sales” or “short domains for sale” or something.

To give you an idea about price expectations, there was a recent BrandBucket report released and the average sale price was around $2,500.

@GinQt204 mentioned NameBio.com which is a good idea. You can find a field there where you can input the word “cloud” either at the beginning or end of a hypothetical domain (like a wild card), specify “.com” and pull up a list of domains sold containing the word “cloud” with prices.

Also, trying to express “cloud” plus “saas” (or “hosting” or “development”) in only five letters is almost impossible, unless you are willing to accept some sort of metaphor that somehow implies what your business is about.

Hope this is helpful somehow. Will send you a PM.
