If you're an internet.bs customer I hope you read carefully the routine-looking email they have just sent about new ToS allowing them to sell your name as soon as it expires.

And if you have had the experience of having trouble renewing a domain with them, this will be worrying - renew important domains well in advance if you want to be safe.

This is from the email they sent:

"We are updating our Terms and Conditions effective August 27, 2025 to introduce a new clause under the section ‘Cancellation of a Domain Name or a Web and/or Email Service’.

What’s Changing?
We are adding the following paragraph:

“In the case of domain names cancelled by the customer, of domain names not extended at the time of expiry despite a reminder of the pending expiration, or non-payment of renewal fees, Registrar is authorized to deactivate this domain name at its own discretion or to change the DNS entries ("deactivation"), to return it to the Registry for the purpose of deletion or continued management at the registry ("deletion") or to dispose, to auction, to transfer to third parties, to take over in its own continuance ("utilization" or “utilized” - this means to use the domain for its own purpose as it sees fit). Registrar will begin to undertake such actions no earlier than five (5) days after the expiration of domain names with a Renewal Grace Period, or upon expiration of domain names without such a period. Customer agrees that the termination or non-renewal of the domain name or non-payment of due renewal fees shall constitute his consent to the actions described above as well as a renewal of the domain name to the extent necessary for their undertaking provided that Customer does not contradict expressly before the term end and no contrary agreement exists.”

We would like to remind you of the importance of renewing your domain name before it expires. If the renewal fee is not paid and the domain is not renewed before the expiry date, you may lose the rights to your domain name."

One of my .fi domains expires in a 5 days. I've tried paying for the renewal with 3 cards, but each time it's rejected. They assure me the problem is with payment processor. But I've been paying for internet.bs purchases and renewals with these cards for years... And there shouldn't be any problems.

I tried transfering the domain to ther registrars, but it didn't work. Regery requires the expiration date at least 7 days, Hostinger requires a Company Identification Number, but I'm individual.

And the most annoying thing, that I had already received a $6,4k offer for this name at the past...

I managed to transfer the domain to Gandi. It's much more expensive, but at least it's better this way.

Maybe it's just me, but I would never bother doing business with a company that has BS in its name (or TLD).

I've been using them for years only for .fi and .si domains. And I've never had any problems with them before this situation.

I have found them ok but prices have gone up, and more than once there has been a scary delay in renewing a domain - I wondered if they were just sitting on the funds for a week or two to earn interest before processing the renewal after repeated prompts from me saying the renewal was not showing in the whois.

So I'd say renew well in advance and check whois to be sure it has really been processed.
