A certain CEO/Salesman is going around shamelessly pumping his extension, while making false claims like this to newbies who are willing to listen / enrich him:

Let me give you few ideas of what I would register (if I was on the domainer side) before the others :

Get the list of all 300 US big cities : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_population
+ top 100 world big cities in population (London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Dublin, Berlin, Mexico, Rio, ...)

And then, I would register :

1. cities+hotel.best (ex : vegashotel.best, miamihotel.best, nychotel.best, ...)
2. cities+restaurant.best
3. cities+realestate.best
4. cities+lawyer.best
....

Still, there is a big difference between "cannot be" and "should have".

I think your marketing is too heavy. I don't know why you are spending so much energy trying to convince domainers, instead you should be focusing on developers, real end users.
It's good to have registry representatives visiting us from time to time, but domainers are not supposed to be the target market (or this is a bad sign).
And indeed the market has spoken. Your TLD is nothing special, there are hundreds of others that nobody wants. .best could easily be interchanged with .top or .vip or .whatever.

It's not like members are picking up on you for some unfair reason. Any newbie making similar claims can expect ridicule.
You should know better as a registry operator. But your targets are downright delusional. You're out of touch with the reality of the market. And you are not alone. Many registry operators seem to have no domain experience and no clue about consumer expectations.
We have seen it before. Many times. A long time ago (as early as 2001).

The nTLD program was built on wishful thinking. This is sad because after 5 years people have not learned anything.

Many TLDs are already in trouble and performing badly. I am expecting to see a number of TLDs disappear in the coming years, I wouldn't be surprised if yours is one of them but good luck anyway.

I'm with .BEST almost since the beginning... when it was opened...
Overall, during these years I regged ~20 domains...
As of today I have ~10 domains.
