    Hi guys!

I have a question related about the history on Expired Domain.

An important feature for me to buy an Expired Domain in an auction is related to the past history. I usually don't try to buy domains that I can see another domain tried to sell in the past.

I am wondering if experienced domainers like you usually follow this behaviour. In my case this feature is the most important before check other things.

Thanks a lot for your feedback :)

Once a domain expires it is deleted from the register. Any new owner is effectively registering it from new. There is no history.

However, that is as far as the registry and ICANN are concerned. You still need to do due diligence. If a previous owner used the domain for scamming or email spamming, or there were toxic backlinks, the reputation and links are likely to follow on to the newly registered domain of the same name. If it has been penalised the new owner may not even be able to achieve ranking unless they are aware of how to "clean up" a reputation.

    DYOR!
