HIGHLIGHTS

• 79% ccTLDs support IDN registration with a further 4 registries in preparation to launch.
• There are an estimated 2.2 million IDN registrations and 1.4 million under ccTLDs and gTLDs respectively
• Over the 12 months to January 2022, median growth of IDN registrations under national ccTLDs was recorded at 2.5% (sample: 39 ccTLDs). This rate is slightly less than the previous year (2.8%).
• Latin is the most common script offered by ccTLDs in the the sample set.
• 18 registries offer both IDN and xn-- form in Port 43 WHOIS and 8 registries offer both the forms in RDAP.
• ccTLD registries rate registrar support 3.1 out of 5. This is a decrease from previous years' score of 3.5
• Registries rate end user awareness of IDNs at 2.3 (out of 5) - a decrease from the previous years score of 2.6
