I have a webhost and a control panel and all that good stuff. I don't think hiring somebody else for this kind of site is gonna work out to well so I need to do it myself. I've made pages in the past using geocities easy designer, I do know basic html and have pages as an easy code reference. I am a graphics designer and I do have access to dreamweaver. I kinda need alittle direction on where to start. I suppose my biggest problem is im not really sure how it all works, the structure of sites and their layouts and how you design it and set it up is a mystery to me. I started using PHPnuke but it's not right for me.

Start with something like NVU

That does most of the work for you

Gte a book or something, NVU is no use to you when you have dreamweaver, you should be able to find some tutorials on dreamweaver on the web, shouldn't be to hard to get started.

The best tool to experiment with would be something like www.editplus.com, the best text/code editor I've ever used. There's no WYSIWYG features in EP, so you'll learn HTML and CSS a lot faster. Try doing simple html tests like making a basic webpage layout - navigation bar, banner and content section.

Use www.w3.org or www.w3schools.com to learn about HTML and CSS, because that's where the rules are made and you know they'll never give out false information.
