Yahoo! CEO states that Google is becoming more and more like a portal. Now here's what he says, paraphrasing:
<rant>
Google is copying Yahoo! by adding more features.
HELLO! *bonks the CEO of Yahoo! on the head* Who's advertisements look exactly like Google's Adsense and even say "Ads by ..." on them!? (You ever see those here at NamePros? You bet you do - at first glance they're almost exactly like Google Adsense ads)
Does this guy even do any research or look at the obvious? He states that Google is becoming more of a portal site than a search service. Hm, at Google.com, I see nothing but a search box and a logo and no more than 10 links. <sarcasm>WOW - WHAT A COPYCAT GOOGLE IS. THEY'RE NOT EVEN ORIGINAL!</sarcasm>
And Google's mission statement... to make information more universally accessible and useful. This involves MANY, if not ALMOST ALL of the internet markets out there. Yahoo's mission statement is "to be the most essential global Internet service for consumers and businesses." Er... this is different from Google's mission statement .... but it just so happens that in order to do this you need to provide the most Internet services... Great idea! Go copy GOOGLE's stuff!
</rant>
Anybody else feel the same way?
