question How should I buy a particular expired domain? (After it has been on namejet)

i wanted to buy a domain at namejet...
but i missed it and now the auction ended...

the extention is .us

the whois expiration date is still the same
my logic tells me that if there was no bids on namejet, i will be able to get it just for the reg fee
so should i use backorder service or can i just wait and hand register it?

hand register it once it deletes

For some odd reasons, I see expired domains that are still not available for hand reg well over the 2 months grace period (sometimes 6 months). Nobody on NP could provide an explanation for that.

If the domain is 'very important' for you, you might prefer to use a backorder service.

Note that I never watched .us domains, only .com

Don't think the OP can backorder it as the domain has already gone through a backorder auction that they missed. If no one bid in the auction, the backorder will likely fall through (or it might be retained by eNom, typically the registrar of NJ auctions).
