How reliable are the traffic claims on Dynadot pending delete names?

As you may know, Dynadot has a column that specifies certain level of traffic for many domains on which you are bidding.

I recently secured a domain with over 10,000 visits per month. Of course, I know that, given the fact that the domain has not had a Website on it for some time (because it is pending delete) some of that traffic may have died out. However, I would like to know if any of you had any good or bad experience with Dynadot "high traffic" domains after you buy them.

Since we do not know how the stats are computed, I think it's as worthy as the godaddy equivalent and I would never buy just based on those figures :)

we got scammed by godaddy.com. we bought high traffic revenue generating domain which is written on the godaddy dashbord but infact the domain has no traffic.we couldnt get traffic after bought. For dynadot I know someone whose names forcedly sent to another registrar, closed his dynadot account unlawfully. In the internet there lots of scammer companies ,I request from beginners "please dont spend high amount of money to this business"

This is exactly what I was going to say. There isn't really anyway to tell and I wouldn't take them as being completely accurate. If it says 10k visitors per month then odds are it is getting some traffic, but if you are planning on anything near 10k you're probably mistaken.

Once you get the name get a little page hosted on it somewhere so you can view the referrals and see where the traffic is coming from..Another idea would be to go and do some basic research into the name..check its backlinks in google and yahoo, check its alexa rank, check web.archive.org and see what the previous website looked like. Check and see if it is even listed in yahoo/google still. This will at least give you some sort of an idea of whether the traffic could be real or not.

Thanks for the advice. I have the name and just redirected it to one of my Websites, which is being monitored with a stat counter. I will post an update about the traffic issue. Thanks

I won't rely on those figures. it could be any traffic. for instance, if there was a website built on that domain, then that traffic source eventually will dry out, when it get deindexed by google.

Not reliable at all.

I've bought several domains with them that they claimed had traffic, and none of them had anything above, say, 10 hits a day.

I know to be skeptical about these claims, but I didn't expect 10 hits for something claimed to have high traffic.

I almost feel like their traffic listing is just a tally of how many people have viewed the listing itself on DynaDot. :) lol
