Hey guys,
So I started buying domains about 5/6 months ago. At first I thought I didn't need any help and after a few months I would start selling one or two domains. But it just didn't happen yet and I want to know if it's simply because my domains suck and they're not worth anything.
This is the list of my 26 domains:
EuropeStudy.com
DifferentBook.com
AdvancesInScience.com
ZipSurfing.com
CrossStory.com
AppleFlip.com
ComicLook.com
AnglePin.com
StreamingNew.com
ListenTop.com
License-Renewal.com
LiveOnNews.com
EpicLaugh.com
StreamSetup.com
6Under.com
FreeSpaceOnline.com
Football-Time.com
CinemaAll.com
Odessay.com
AwarenessData.com
GalleryVirtual.com
Xbox360Game.com
SickBass.com
4Mins.com
Electrine.com
StreamLiveOnline.com

I know some of them aren't too good, but I think some are quite nice.
Thanks,
Daniel Santos

Welcome to Namepros :)
The ones that stood out were,
EuropeStudy
ComicLook
SickBass
Electrine

Although still don't see that much value, you could fetch high xx to low xxx for these ones!

They don't make a whole lot of sense. In my opinion, they sound like someone who speaks English as a second language registered them.

Thank you for your answer. English is indeed my second language, Portuguese is my native language. But that definitely does not mean I don't speak english, I'm actually fluent in english.
But thanks anyway!

I did not mean that to be insulting. They just sound slightly off.

On a side note, you do speak English quite well. :)

Thank you for your answer first of all.
Interesting that on sedo those are definetly not the ones with most uniques, besides EuropeStudy. I get the most uniques with StreamingNew, StreamLiveOnline and 4mins.

They are not the worse domains out there, but aren't very good. When you get a name, one of the most important things you should ask yourself is "How can someone use this to help their business"?

The good thing is that they are all regged in the .COM extension at least...

Hello,
I don't think these names are really outstanding. Even if you like them, that is not enough. Somebody else must like them too, to the point that they would want to buy them from you.
In fact, there is no shortage of 'decent' domains, but what you need is really great domains to make sales on a regular basis.

I personally wouldn't keep any when renewal is due. Unless you intend to develop them.

Imo there worth about 2 to 5 bucks if you sell them on here.

I'm sure you are new to the game. Most of us reg bad names in the beginning I think mine were worse.

If you can get you money back by grace deleting I would. You can find better names to register.

Here's some advice look into expiring names or the auctions. What I learned it's better to buy something good from the aftermarket. then register something that is bad because it's available.

I think you did OK. As other have said, i have seen MUCH worse. None of these are likely to be your retirement plan, but that is one of the exciting parts of domaining, you never know. I have sold crappy names for way more than i would have imagined and if the right guy really wants it, you could get lucky.

Now being realistic and having not looked up your prices, you do have a few names that I would have bought and if you decide to do reseller pricing will probably sell on here. You may want to consider selling at or just above cost to get some liquidity back, then reinvest in better names based on what you have learned.

I would also add that being fluent in English is great, but I think what the poster meant is that domains sometime work on subtleties that aren't in an English language textbook. They are popular because of how they are used or pronounced in our culture and that is much harder to be fluent in.

If you list average domains on sedo around 2-5% will get offers each year ....

To increase this you must actively target potential endusers by email, phone etc. or pay to push them to auction at marketplaces like SEDO or Flippa.

Your domains are ok, some of your domains are much more valuable reversing words eg.

EuropeStudy => StudyEurope
GalleryVirtual => VirtualGallery
AwarenessData => DataAwareness
CinemaAll => AllCinema

Be careful how you use Xbox360Game this could easily infringe on Trademarks with Microsoft, it's best to delete this one if I were you. You may also have other domains which infringe on other Trademarks so be careful.

Thank you so much for your answer.
I'm curious when you say that I have a few names you would buy. Could you tell me which ones those are, and if I were to put them for sale, how much should I ask for?
I'd really like an answer please,
Thanks

Thing is I get these domains from the expired ones. I look at a whole list and I pick the best from there, which makes them quite cheap. If I were to look for those 'great domains', I would have to be competing with the 'big sharks' which would make it not only extremely hard, but also extremely expensive. Am I right?

This is not true. I snap up domains for $20-$22 all the time. You just have to be patient and buy the right names.

Yes but you can still get good deals competing with other domainers, who generally only buy at reseller rates 10-25% of what an enduser would expect to pay.

When you say I should actively target potential endusers... You mean I should contact people who already have established websites to know if they would like to change their websites' name/domain for one of my own? Is that it?
Thanks for answering by the way.

Well, contact people/businesses who you think might buy your domain for any reason, what they do with it wont matter once you have their cash in your pocket.

They may not want to change an existing website name they have, it could be defensive registration or a new project or maybe just to redirect it's traffic etc.
