Hi All,

I thought I was on to a winner with a .de name I spotted for purchase, however upon closer inspection, there was an issue.

The name in german uses the ä symbol for one of the characters. The version available uses the standard a symbol in its place.

Do any members have some advice on how critical the character accents are in foreign languages?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there
I can't give you a general answer as I am quite new in the domaining area.
I am multilingual, but my mother tongue is German. Sometimes 2 things - one written with ä ("Umlaut") and one written with a (plain) are meaning 2 complete different things.
If you are interested - I could give you my opinion on your domain-candidate. Feel free to PM me.
kind regards,
