Hi
A friend of mine has an online website security business he would like to sell. The site is PR5 and gets very decent traffic. It's pretty much automated and he makes about $15,000-$20,000 a year off it. The revenue is NOT from advertising but from sales (again which is 95% automated)
What would be the best way to sell it? (I'm not putting an asking price in this thread just in case it's looked at as if I'm spamming)
Thank you so much!

You can use namepros to sell this name + website but I would check Flippa.com.I suppose you will get there a much better price. An other alternative is Sedo.

You're talking about selling the business, not just the domain name, right?

If so I would check places like Sitepoint.com and others that sell or broker web sites. The other option is to contact a real business broker and see if they will sell if for you. A broker will charge a stiff precentage, but they may be able to sell it for more than a small online site. Offline business may sell for 12-24 months of income, but an online business could go as high as 48 months. I have a friend that sells income domains for 18-48 months of income. Unlike a real business, online ones generally take much less work and less risk. Plus you can manage your business from anywhere.

You could also try an auction site like ebay and that might get you in front of more potential buyers. Good Luck!

Depending on the type of sales, your friend may get a much better price by doing what the business brokers do - analyze the potential market and try to find a buyer who will get the most benefit (and therefore be willing to pay the best price). There do not appear to be a lot of buyers willing to pay five figure prices on sites like Flippa. Since the number of potential buyers is limited, it is likely that the price will not be maximized.
