I know this seems a simple question for me as well but I don't know what you think about this, is autoresponder site a good business?

im planning (well after i got some feedbacks here) to create an autoresponder site it gives (for now) for free autoresponders it will be a web-based mailing list manager with all the lots of extras a full blown mailing list manager can give but for free, but I put in ads on header and footer be it an ascii or html messages.
is this a good business and an indirect source of money? or are people fed up with this kind of a business that's why others are just abusing it for spam? let me know your thoughts. pls. cite some experiences as well, the more direct, frank you tell it here the more I appreciate it.
